Hello gloriagg2
If you have not already I would check out the Print Quality Issues article. It may help resolve your problem.

Hello kg7fu
I have some questions to assist with troubleshooting:
- Did you try the article I suggested above?
- What operating system are you using?
- What applications are you printing from?
- Does it happen if you print from notepad?

No matter what the print quality settings are in driver settings, windows, or Photoshop CS6, the printer prints all in red, an eerie orange cast.
I have tried "printer manages colors" and "photoshop manages colors" in CS6, tried "ICM handled by host system", "ICM handled by printer", and "ICM disabled" in printer settings dialog.
Tried 3 different paper types. Tried powering the unit off and restarting the computer. I am running Windows7 and it's doing this on my MAC running OS-X 10.5 tiger
It's obvious the cyan is not printing even though it's a brand new cart, the questions is it a cartridge problem or a printer problem.

Hello kg7fu
The article, Troubleshooting Print Quality Issues, goes over steps and solutions to determine if the problem is with the cartridge or the printer. When printing the Print Quality Diagnostic Report is Cyan missing? Solution seven is to replace the problem cartridge. This helps isolate the problem. If replacing the cartridge resolves the problem you had a bad cartridge. If the problem persists the printer will need to be serviced.

It is a defective cartridge. I replaced the cyan with an identical new one and it's all fine now.
How do I get a replacement for the defective cartridge from HP?
