photosmart 6510 printing size not matching paper size

Problem: I select 4x6 size photo paper when printing from photoshop, the final print always has a 1/2 inch empty border, even when selecting borderless printing.

Printer Model: HP Photosmart 6510

OS: Windows 7

Connection method: Wireless

Error messages: No error messages appear

Thanks for your reply even though it was not to me. This helped greatly and I was finally able to print my photos borderless and also learn some more things I did not know by using the information in the article you suggested in your answer here.  However, the manual directions in the article are not anything like my 6510 print settings menu; I wish I had the window that is shown in the article but I was able to figure out my settings.

Even though I selected borderless printing and 4x6 paper, the photos have a white border on 2 sides.  Please help.  thanks.

trying to print an invitation (5 1/2 x 8 1/12) from Microsoft 7 Word and I have no custum options to resize the paper.  The error "mismatched paper size" keeps coming up.  Please help!  Do I need to get a different printer?  I just purchased this one

I tried the steps in the article posted, but I can't seem to find where to change the paper size to "custom" I am trying to print invitations. I understand the paper mismatch error is to help prevent printing on the wrong size/to save ink, but it gets frustrating when it won't print because my paper is 1/4 of an inch off from what my options are. Is there any other way around this? Am I just missing the place where I should be able to choose a custom size?

Which version of Word are you using? And which operating system?

I am having the same problem.  I went to the page you suggested, but it didn't help.  I have windows 7 with word 2010.  if i put a regular sheet of paper in, it will print.  but when i put in the invitation, I get a page mismatch.  My guess is this size is not supported by the printer which means I will need to return it.

Thoughts?
