I have a photosmart C5280 all-in-one and have just replaced the colour ink cartridge and an error has appeared on the printer display saying:
'Print Cartridges'
'Refer to printer documentation'
The exclamation light is flashing and the printer wont respond to anything I try and do, I have tried turning on and off and the same error appears.
I have been using the printer for around 18 months without any problems, I don't have the original software installed I just connected it to my laptop which is running windows 7.
Can anyone help?
Thanks
Lee

Well I have just read through all the other posts from people with the same issue and it doesnt look good, theres not one reply that offers any sort of explanation or solution to the problem, it looks like im going to have to throw it out and buy a new one, but guess what I wont be buying another HP thats for sure, this is the second HP printer that has gone on me after only having them just over 18 months, think Ill go back to an Epson printer which Ive used in the past without any problems!!

Hey Sharkpa. I recommend running the HP Print and Scan Doctor and the Hardware Diagnostic Utility if you are using a Windows machine. These tools will automatically try and resolve the issue for you and report any error that will be helpful to me to diagnosis the issue.
Thanks,
