I have removed and check the cartridge at least 30 times. I have had it checked and refilled--then I have removed and checked it another 30 times. My son,& grand daughter , have also tried.

Check the expiration date on the cartridges. After more than a few hours, I found the cartridge expired on Wednesday, 12/28. It seems that all printer companies use this method. I tried resetting the printer to change stored date. There must be a battery maintaining date info. I couldn't find it's location without disassembling the printer..

This is not the issue for the user above. Very few HP models have ink that "expires" and none of these use a "right" and "left" cartrdige, they are all five or six individual ink supplies. See this page for more information.

HP Photosmart 2613 All-in-One Printer is an older printer using a two cartidge print system. These printer cartiages have an expiration date on the backside. This is the link: HP 94 Black Inkjet Print Cartridge (C8765WN)

Please read this post then provide some details. What printer model? Cleaning the cartrdidge contacts as shown in this post may help.

The Photosmart 2613 does not enforce any expiration. The #94 cartridges have an "End of Warranty" date, but this is not an expiration of the cartrdige. The printers that use the 94 cartridge have no way of reading any date information from the cartridge and does not enforce any date related rejection of the cartridge.
That said, a cartridge will be rejected if it does not pass the electrical tests. Try the troubleshooting steps in this page.
