I have the same problem as the OP. Following a major HP software upgrade late last year I've had problems with my HP C5580 AIO printer. I've uninstalled/reinstalled software so often that I've obviously flipped some bits and cannot do an uninstall. Not from the install CD, not from Control Panel or anything else suggested on the HP site. When I try I get the Account Control pop up but when I click on Continue, nothing happens. Is there any way to force an uninstall?

Uninstall generates "Setup Encountered an abnormal program execution. Setup will Shutdown."
The problem that I am trying to fix is that this PC - HP Touchsmart TX2 can no longer print to the Laserjet1022n. Other PCs on the network are able to print without difficulty.
I'm trying to get this user to be able to print, and HP says "uninstall / re-install" - and I can't.
Any help or suggestions out there?
