5min delay after each print before moving to next queued document for Laserjet CP1215

I have a new Laserjet CP1215 that prints almost immediately, great. However the subsequent document in the queue won't print till the completed document is removed from the top of the queue which always takes at least 5 minutes to occur automatically. As such I have to wait more than 5 minutes between print jobs.

The printer did not come with an installation CD. I have run the HP online check for driver updates which said everything was ok. I updated the firmware to the latest version 20081007. Tried switching USB ports as thought it might be a sharing conflict but no difference. Downloaded the HP printing diagnostic utility but on running it it does not show the printer as being present in the drop down list?  The printer is connected directly by USB to a XP professional Version 2002 SP3 system.

I am also having major issues. Have new custom pc with windows 7 and neither my home or the one in the office (Bought 2) will print on demand. usually takes 10 minutes or me to retstar the pc.

any ideas?

I am also having same problem on update to Windows7 with officejet 6210.  Sends "pages 4/1" to printer, prints the one page that I sent, but then hangs up for several minutes, until finally job is deleted from print spool queue.  What gives?  Worked fine before the update.

did anyone find a solution to this?  we have the same problem.  HP printers, win 2003 server print server, any kind of documents.
