6310 All-in-One cannot scan to computer. Terray

Have 6310 connected to HP Pavilion with Vista through home network.  Had problems.  Uninstalled and Installed again.  Now cannot scan to computer.  Help.

if the software reinstalled successfully and youre having issues with scanning after that run the HP SCAN DIAGNOSTIC UTILITY.

let me know exactly what happens when u download and run the utility as soon as you can

i am hp employed but i am also speaking through personal experiences with printers i own as well

Last week printer Icon in Printer Window said "Error."  I uninstalled and tried to reinstall from CD.  Just before completion, got "Error 1618 (MSI Error 1618)" message.  Tried uninstall and reinstall again from CD and got "Another installation is in progress.  Complete that installation before proceeding with this installation."  Could not find a solution.  Today, in the Printer Window, I clicked "Add a printer" and the printer did install.  But I cannot scan from the printer to the computer in "Paint." 

 

I tried your suggestion to select HP scan device from your link.  Message says "If scan device not listed (which it wasn't) it is not currently installed on your computer."  Now what?
