I have an Officejet 6210 All-in-One that has been running fine, USB connected, PC is Windows XP Serv Pack3. I was having problems scanning in documents so I thought I would reload software (the full package) from the HP website. It told me I had the software already loaded and I would have to uninstall first (so I said yes to uninstall). That finished fine but when it went on to install, get the following error messages:
C:\DOCUM~1\name\LOCALS~1\Temp\7zS4073\setup\hpzprl
Access is denied
I click on OK and it goes on to:
Error Situation Code: 18246320
Now launching=X:\hpzpr01.exe -m preloadproductdrivers -l XXX -f X:\DIVin??.DAT
Failed to open destination file C:\Program Files\HP\Digital
Imaging\{5469D537-9B44-4c78-BF2D-5F9807564F74}hpom
Failed to copy file X:\ ..\ .\hpomd05.dat to X:: Access is denied
CopyFiles () failed with Access is denied
Exit code=5
This occurs during the Setting Recovery Point of the installation process.
I have tried the solution offered by Felice dated 3/25/11 OfficeJet 6210 all in one Installation issues, as well as numerous restarts and re-downloads, but so far not having any luck.
My printer was working fine before, just sorry I tried to reload drivers. Any help would be appreciated (it's probably something really simple but I'm at wit's end)
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
Please fully remove the software by using the utility below:
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software4/COL8988/mp
The Utility perform 4 different removals levels, each time you will run the tool a different uninstall level will be performed.
Therefore, repeat this tool 4 times to fully uninstall the existing software.
Once done, enter C:\Program Files and remove any existing HP and Hewllet-Packard folder.
Enter C:\Program Files\Common Files and remove any existing HP and Hewllet-Packard folder.
Click Start > Run, the Run Dialog appears.
type %temp%, click OK.
Remove any content inside this folder - any of this content is temporary. Therefore there is no reason to afraid removing any of the files within this folder.
Now reinstall the Full Software.
If the HP Director fails to launch, install the patch below:
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software8/COL17377/o
Please let me know of any progress,
Shlomi

Hi,
Still not working for me. Get the same first message of Access is Denied, then the second error changes to:
Error Situation Code 54593981
Now launching =X:\hpzprl01.exe -m preloadproductdrivers -l
enu,esn,fra,ptb,enu,ell,plk,rus,trk,chs,cht,cys,da
X:\DIVns??.DAT
SetupCopyOEMInf(X:\hpzid412.inf) failed. error=0x5 : Access is denied
Setup INFslistedInDatFile failed with Access is denied
Exit code = 5
Again, this happens during setting the recovery point in the install.
Thanks again for any help.

Please try disabling any startup programs who might interrupt your installation:
- Make sure to temporary disable any Anti Virus software
- temporary disable any running 3rd party services and programs and try running the installation again:
- Click Start , and then Run . The Run window opens.
- In the Open: box, type msconfig , and then click OK . The MSCONFIG utility window opens.
- Click the Startup tab.
- Click Disable All to disable any application that loads when the computer starts up.
- Click the Services tab. Place a check mark in the Hide All Microsoft Services box .
- Click the Disable All button.
- Click OK .
- Click Restart to apply the changes to the computer during the next restart.
- Restart the computer.
- Verify there are no HP and Hewllet Packard folders within both C:\Program Files and C:\Program Files\Common Files
Make sure to remove them now if it still there. - ReRegister the WIndows Installer service:
- Click Start, and then click Run .
- In the Open box, type msiexec / unregister , and then click OK .
- Click Start and then click Run .
- In the Open box, type msiexec / regserver , and then click OK
- Try installing the software now and check for any progress.
- Either if you see some progress or not, make sure to enable any startup items again:
- Click Start , and then Run . The Run window opens.
- In the Open: box, type msconfig , and then click OK . The MSCONFIG utility window opens.
- Click the General tab.
- Select Normal Startup to enable the programs that were previously disabled.
- Click Apply and then Close .
- Click Restart to apply the changes and restart the computer.
Please let me know of any progress.

Shlomi,
No change in my results - get the same result of Access is Denied, then the same screen with error situation 54593981 and message.
I do have an old HP printer installed (to be able to print these instructions) but I have renamed the Hewlett-Packard folder in both Program Files and Program Files\Common Files before trying any installs. Would this be causing a conflict somewhere? Don't really want to uninstall printer because at least it is working.
Thanks for any more help.

Update on progress:
Today I ran CCleaner and fixed registry. Then I re-did instructions from post 11-10-11 11:53pm. Am still getting the Access is denied but the error situation code changed to:
Error Situation Code 51276100
Now launching=X:\hpzprl01.exe -m preloadiceenginetoguidfolder -l XXX -f X:\DIVns??.DAT
SetupCopyOEMInf(X:\hpzid412.inf) failed. error=0x5 : Access is denied.
SetupINFsListedInDatFile failed with Access is denied.
Exit code=5
Please help with any new ideas to try.
Thanks.
