Access Denied re-installing Photosmart 2610

Hi,

I've been using a PS 2610 All-in-one in a 5 PC LAN  for a couple of years - very pleased with it indeed.

Just recently I made some PC upgrades and needed to re-install the driver and started to bump into the message "Access Denied".

The operating systems are XP Home and XP Pro and in both cases I cannot get through the installation. The Pro gives me the message and the Home hangs the setup.

I believe it is a problem between XP and the driver, given that XP is always being automatically updated.

I also have a notebook on Vista, and the setup was a breeze, and I can print, scan and do everything through WiFi - as desired.

My problem is becoming critical, since most of the desktops on XP are not accessing the 2610 anymore.

Tried the chat support but they couldn't get it fixed.

Anyone reporting also this problem could PLEASE hep me ?

Try running the Access Denied Utility and try reinstalling the software.

I forgot to mention that on my post.

I alredy did that, also cleaned the registry entries as directed by the chat support - but still can't get it to install.

Any other hint and suggestions are welcome !

Can you post the FULL error message here? Even a screenshot of the error window would help better.

To those who might be strugling with this issue - I got it solved through HPs site.

particularly:

Solution three: Turn off background programs and reinstall the HP software 

Step two: Turn off the 'Terminate and Stay Resident' (TSR) programs and other background programs

That did it !
