C 4599 USB Device Unrecongnized

Hi I have the Photsmart C4599. It has worked great for a couple years, but now it has lost the connection to my computers.  I have 4 computers at home that used to print to the printer.  Now The laptop Win 7 and the two Desktops on Winxp have all lost the ability to print or conect ot printer at different times.  One computer with win 7 Desktop still can print via printer.  All other printer say USB is not Recongnezed when plugged in.  Ive tried uninstalling and Reinstalling, Power cycleing printer and computer together. Now When I reinstall the Printer it wont detect it via USB.  Never says its powered on.  The HP software on the Laptop with win 7 says  that the Printer is offline and I cant get it online?  But the printer still works from the one computer?>?>  PLEASE HELP

Hi,

 

If I understand correctly you are using a usb cable to connect and disconnect the printer from differant computers? If yes, try a differant usb cable, it might be wearing out and not connecting as good anymore.
