Everything works in Win XP and Linux Ubuntu. When I fired up Win 7 it dowloaded the drivers and declared everything was ready to go. Ends up the scanning function is recognized, and works fine, but any print job gets stuck in the que and won't print. I then tried to install the driver from the HP download site. When it got to the point to hook up the printer USB cable it did not recognize that I plugged it in. Again the scanner function worked but no printing. I'm sure HP will come out with a Win 7 driver by the time Win 7 is released but it would be nice if I could get the basic print function going.
Thanks,
Dale

Hi Dexter,
Thanks for taking a look at my post.
The C5580 printer is listed as USB002 and the box is checked. I uncheck it, closed out, and the rechecked the box but it still didn't print. The scanner will scan from the Windows Fax and Scan program. The psc2175 printer is listed under USB001 and worked fine when it was hooked up. I just have the Beta installed to get familiar with it. I don't do any real work in Windows 7 but I was interested in making sure the printer I just bought will work when Windows 7 final release comes out.
Thanks,
Dale

and btw, one of the ports will ALWAYS be highlighted. you cannot uncheck it, but only change it to a different port. try the LPT1 port and see what happens.

I must of just changed ports when I tried to unchek it. I went back and saw what you were talking about. No luck with LPT1 though. I'll just have to wait for the release of a win7 driver. No sweat, just checking the beta out.
Thanks again for your interest
Dale
