Windows Vista, Photosmart 5510, Computer Associates Total Defense AV package.
1. Does anyone know what are the best network settings for wireless printing should be or what to do in either the AV software or the printer software if the wireless printing works with the firewall off but not with it on?
2. Can this printer software support the printer using a desktop computers LAN connection and a laptops wireless connection. Will it allow the laptop to use wireless in other parts of the building and plug in via usb when in the same room?

Hi FrankJClarkJr,
Follow the steps in Step thirteen: Restart and configure the firewall on the document below.

If you have the computer connected to the router using an Ethernet cable you can still have the printer wirelessly configured so other computers can see it. The only time you have to worry about Ethernet disabling Wireless is if you have the Ethernet cable plugged directly into the printer. If this is the case them you are unable to have wireless turned on while the Ethernet cable is plugged in.
