Can't install HP Photosmart eStation driver & software!

To Whom It May Concern,

I can't seem to install all the software from the installation/setup CD (which came with the purchase of the printer) as well as from the internet into my computer, Sony VAIO.  However, I was able to print from the computer through the "add device" function in the control panel.  That doesn't mean that I can fully utilise the functions of my printer such as, "scanning" which I can't perform.  It kept on asking to start the function from the computer where the software has been installed!

Can somebody help me with this problem?  When I called the technical line, they asked me to pay $64.00 before they even think of doing anything.  Hopefully, this written letter is not gonna cost me an arm and a leg!!

I have a few questions. What kind of errors are you receiving during installation? What operating system are you using? Is your printer the C510a (Model #)?

Also have the same problem. When trying to install the software for the estation c510  on a Sony Vaio laptop running Windows 7 Home Premium(64 bit).

The installation software will start running, go through sytem checks and checking for updates then just stops and disappears from the screen.

The only way I can load the drivers is to manually create an IP port and point to the disk or download location in the add printer wizard.

I have tried with AV and firewalls disabled with the same result.

What are your laptops specifications. Also are you trying to install over USB or wireless? From your posts it sounds like over the network but just verifying.
