I just bought the Deskjet All-In-One F4280 and have tried without success to install the software. About halfway through the install, I get a Fatal Error message that says Invalid Drive E:\ and to check in with HP support. I've chatted several times with technicians and they had me change permissions for Hewlett-Packard in my registry, uninstall, restart and run the installation software ... same error. I have tried both the CD and the downloaded .exe file and get the same message. Has anyone had this problem and been able to correct it? I hope so because this has been a very frustrating and time-wasting experience ... not to mention my first experience buying an HP product.
My system is Windows XP, Service Pack 2 V2002 running on a Lenovo Intel Core2Duo 199GHz, 1.96GB of RAM.
Thanks.

Try to copy and contents of the of the cd to your desktop. To do this, open MY COMPUTER. Right click on the cd-rom drive where your CD is located and then do a right click and then left click on EXPLORE. It should open up another window which would show you the contents of the CD. Copy all the files and folders under the CD. Go to your desktop and create a new folder. Paste the files and folders you have copied on the new folder you have created. Try to locate the file SETUP.EXE on the new folder.
Please reply if you need some clarifications.
