You can use the Windows Disk Cleanup Wizard.
Click Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, Disk Cleanup.
Pick a drive, click OK, and wait for the quick analysis.
Click OK again, and you’ll empty the Recycle Bin, clear out Internet Explorer’s cache, and empty all files from the Temp folder that are more than a week old.

This is definitely a problem w/Win 7 x64 & the C310 driver package. Allow me to elaborate...
I am an IT Technician, and a client brought me their laptop and Photo-not-so-smart C310 to get it to work. I tried the requisite steps with installing, downloading the latest drivers from HP's site, only to find that the install dialogue would disappear randomly after accepting the EULA. I then proceeded to install ALL the outstanding Win 7 updates, including SP1, hoping that it would resolve the problem. Naturally, it did not.
In a desperate attempt, I downloaded the drivers for the Photo-not-so-Smart C309a....not only could I use the driver to setup the printer via usb, but it also worked w/the wifi, as long as you created a new local tcp/ip port for the printer for wifi. Even the utilities/software package installed for the C309, but Windows would not install a scanner for it, so this unfortunately is not a solution either.
I just finished cleaning up all the temp files on this laptop (there were 8.4gb of temp files!). This did not fix the problem. I tried with the firewall off (turned off in services.msc) and the anti-virus off and UAC completely off...the install still disappears!! I updated to Flash player 10.3 and ran the most recent version of Java...still no luck. I stopped my Catalyst Control Center process and anything else having to do with my video card...nothing! There are no useful event logs to assist with the troubleshooting. HP you have a problem w/your installer for x64 w/this C310. I have no choice but to tell this client to return this POS and purchase a different brand since HP can't be trusted to produce a working x64 driver/software installer for this model.

Here's your solution---right click on the executable install file and go to Properties. Click the Compatability tab at the top. In the compatability mode, select Windows 7. I did this and it ran just fine. I would like to give a facepalm to HP.

Hi,
Sorry for the late response.
I have replied to another thread that seems to be the same problem.
This may help you, could you also give me some information about your printer etc?

I'm having exactly the same problem with my c410a. Windows 64-bit on an Acer Aspire.
Click setup.exe, it shows up in the Task Manager, then disappears. No feedback, no error message, just starts, then stops.
Have tried running as admin, set window 7 compatibility. No change.
This is *not* an uncommon problem, as I see from this forum. Is there nobody from HP who can help?
