Hello, HP
I think I have a Huge Problem with my 351XL colour cartridge.
This is brand new genuine hp.
A message first came up “Refer to Printer documentation”
I found out how to trick the printer in to clearing the message my printing a diagnostic page. That allows one page to print before the message comes back.
This does not work now!
A “This cartridge is not intended for use in this printer” has replaced the first message. (It an original hp)
This may have something to do with the problem.

Is there meant to be some kind of warrantee?
How would I use this?
Please, I need all the help I can get with this. I’m a student and use my printer a lot.
To fix the problem it looks like I will buy yet another cartridge. I’ll go for the cheap one and that should get me out of this rut.
Something like this has happened before. The inside of the printer is an inky mess. I have cleaned out the printer it just comes back with each new cartridge I put in. I reduced this by reducing the ink volume print setting.
If it is the printer I may need to get a new one. Something cheap and reliable maybe you could suggest something. Not sure if a simple printer could be any better the software appears quite complex on modern hp printers. The old hp I had just installed in one shot. These new ones appear to have a whole suite of software.
I would be truly grateful for any help.
--------------------------- UPDATE ---------------------------
You see this is what happens. I leave the printer for a while and them the cartridge shows up OK.
At one point this said it was empty. What's up with this thing?
This is what happens when i try to print something
