I just recently bought the Photosmart Premium C310 and I'm running it with a win7 64-bit machine. From the beginning the prints were coming out to dark, in both photoshop and printing from windows picture viewer. Tried contacting phone support, big help that was, might as well thrown the printer in a lake, at least the frustration would be gone. Phone support had me reset the printer and the prints are even worse than before, and the guy had no clue what the printers ICC profile is. If anyone knows what the proper profile would be in photoshop, please let me know. Otherwise any info. on what could be causing the dark prints would be great. From what I've seen on the web, this seems to be an issue with many different hp printers.

Does a self test directly from the unit also produce a dark print? This would be a good place to start to rule out any hardware issue before working with the software settings.
Please print out a self test and reply back with information on how it looks.
How to print a self-test report
- Load plain white paper in the input tray.
- On the product control panel, touch the Setup icon (
). - Touch Tools .
- Touch Printer Status Report . The product prints the report.

so heres the catch, all the test prints directly from the printer look fine, as far as i can tell, and as soon as you say that then to HP its a pc issue. BUT, i put an sd card in the sd card slot ON THE PRINTER, and printed ... images are still coming out dark. I also still have a photosmart 7960 and the images look great on that printer directly from the pc. I have wasted so much ink and photo paper trying to get a good print.
