I have an HP PHotosmart D7360 printer that has barely been used. The ink cartridges expired, so I replaced all of them, but the printer still displays the following message: "Ink System Failure. Ink system has failed. Unable to print. Refer to printer documentation. Error: Oxc18a0306. Turn power off, then on again."
No amount of turning on and off, removing and replacing the cartridges, is solving this problem. This printer should definitely not need servicing after such low level use.
Any suggestions?
Thank you!

If this printer is not used much and not left plugged in the ink inside the printhead and feed tube will dry up. When that happens an "ink system failure" will occur for which there is no recovery.

Thanks for the reply. Before I trash the printer I decided to try restarting after pulling out the ribbon connector on the right side. That got rid of the error message.
My new problem is that I replaced all the ink with new cartridges, but the printer now claims that the magenta is empty. I know it isn't--I can hear the sloshing of ink, plus it's BRAND NEW. A common problem, I understand from other discussions. Has anyone ever found a solution????
Again, thanks.

Finally solved the ink problem by turning printer on, unplugging cord from wall and printer, waiting 30 seconds, plugging back in. Magenta registered and the printer prints just fine, even after sitting unused for almost two years!
