HI I have a IMAC with OS 10.6.8. I have been trying to connect a deskjet all in one printer F4580 to my IMAC. I have downloaded the software from the support site and followed instructions. On the network connection page it wont let me type in my WEP password, so i selected choose another network and reconnected to the original, this way it lets me type in my WEP password and connection to the network seens succesful, however after I diconnect the USB it comes up with an error message - "Device Not Reachable - The network configuration was successfully downloaded to the device. However to continue configuring the device in network, your Mac must have access to the device. So please make sure that your Mac has access to the Network : "BTHomeHub-F13A" and retry."
I know that my IMAC is connected to the network because i can do this! Please help as i cannot get beyond this point.
Thanks
James

I had the same issue and was confounded for almost a year with the same issue until just today (yes a year!). I had gone through the HP setup disk about 50 times, and it stalled on the same message that you received. I was also routed to my router being the culprit, but that too was not the issue. Try the following steps from the URL listed below:
"Since I discovered the IP address of the printer on my router's webpage, I went into "Print and Fax" from system preferences. From there I clicked the '+' sign to add a printer. Nothing shows up in the Default tab. So, I went to the IP tab. From there I selected the protocol for the "HP Jetdirect - Socket". In the Address field I entered the IP address of the printer. After a few moments the printer was found and the "Print Using" field was automatically filled in with the print driver. I clicked "Add", and low and behold the printer now shows up in my printer list."
