Failed printer driver update installation and failed complete new software installation

After several years of successful working, I have been unable of late to get my C6180 Photosmart and my laptop to connect wirelessly - even though the printer and laptop both are successfully connected to the router.  So, I uninstalled the printer software on my laptop and when I went to re-install it from my disc I got an error message the system was not compatible - I run Windows 7 64 bit.  so I downloaded the updates from HP, trying both just the driver update, then the entire software update.  Both failed.  I've gone through the troubleshooting recommendations - restarted and reinstalled to no avail.

 

Any suggestions?

Hello GLPW

 

What kind of errors are you receiving when you try to install the software? More than likely the disc doesn't have the Windows 7 drivers, but what happens when you tried to download the software. Have you made sure the previous software was uninstalled?
