HP 3070A wireless connection software crash

Hi,

I recently bought a HP Deskjet All-in-One 3070A printer. I have successfully connected it to a wireless network and a laptop. I have a desktop computer connected to the same wireless network. I have installed the HP software and can wirelessly print documents from this computer. However, I cannot scan documents from the printer to this computer as it reports the printer cannot be found. I try to run the HP Deskjet 3070 B611 Series software to ensure Scan from Computer is enabled. I have two options:

1) Connect to a new printer

2) Add new software

I want to connect to the printer (option 1). I select this option and then select wireless. At a random point before the 'Checking network enviroment' progress bar fills, the program crashes. The error "DeviceSetup.exe has stopped working" is displayed.

The error details are:

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: BEX64
Application Name: DeviceSetup.exe
Application Version: 25.0.571.0
Application Timestamp: 4df024b0
Fault Module Name: BfLLR.dll_unloaded
Fault Module Version: 0.0.0.0
Fault Module Timestamp: 4c7bd4e7
Exception Offset: 000000018000a4c8
Exception Code: c0000005
Exception Data: 0000000000000008
OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.48
Locale ID: 2057

My computer runs the Windows 7 64-bit operating system.

Can you please tell me why the software is crashing and how I can resolve the issue so I can connect to the printer?

Thank you,

Tom Clark

Re: HP 3070A wireless connection software crash

Hi TommyC814,

On this computer can you see the EWS- Embedded Web server of the printer?

To access EWS of printer:

1. Open Internet Explorer

2. Type the IP address of the printer in the address bar (Example: 192.168.1.100)

3. EWS shows the printer options.

Check out the steps in the document below.

Re: HP 3070A wireless connection software crash

I can go to the EWS but when I click Webscan it reports that this function is disabled. To enable it I have to go to the Security section in the Settings tab.

I do this and get the warning about HTTPS. I accept and the displayed page shows "Internal System Error".

Hi Ajirera,

Have you tried using a new USB cable?

How long is the USB cable you are using?

If you have the printer connected wirelessly what is the purpose of connecting the USB cable?
