I am trying to set up my printer on MAC w/ OS10.5.  I get the messages "the printer is offline"  How do I get it on line?

Well, without knowing how you tried to install it, my first suggestion would be to remove and readd the printer.  In System Preferences, open the Printer and Fax utility.  If your printer is displayed in the list, highlight it and click the minus button just below.  If your printer is not listed or after you have removed it, make sure the printer is on, in ready and connected to the computer and then click the + button to readd it. (LPD printer, localhost if USB, if network then IP printer and type in the IP address).
