How about jscript and vbs?
Are you getting any messages from UAC (User account control) when you try running the updates?
Which internet protection (antivirus and firewall) solution are you using?
Consider temporarily disabling your internet connection and disabling the antivirus protection while you try installing the softpaq. Renable and connect to the internet afterwards.
Are you getting any warnings about ActiveX scripts when you try to install the downloads?
Have you tried running the softpaqs and/or updates as an administrator?
( I noticed the issues the installer had with opening keys in the registry)

jscript = java I suppose? java6 is installed
vbs = no idea, how can I find it?
Internet protection = AVG
Firewall = Windows Firewall
So now I tried installing it with AVG & internet disconnected AND as administrator. It still does exactly the same.
I'm gonna try and be more specific:
When it starts installing, in the installation screen, it starts with
- Completing systemcontrol
after that it goes to
- Completing systempreparation
next is
- installation of software
it finishes this (says complete) and then I have to enable the printer (put usb in it).
It finds and recognises the printer
after that the installation continues and goes to the final thing called:
-Product configuration
in this option it gets stuck everytime and it takes a long while (about 5min) before it finally crashes and says:
"C:\Users\Kay\AppData\Local\Temp\7zS446B\hpzsetup.exe" "-wStub" "459692"
Unrepairable error during installation...
After that it analyses the installationlogfiles and when I check mistakes,
I get the long error message i copy/pasted in one of my previous posts.
after that it removes the software and asks for a reboot...

How about going to a command line with elevated(admin) priveleges? Type in sfc /scannow. That will invoke the system file checker in Windows. Let it run and inspect your system files. SFC will replace any corrupt system files that it finds with clean copies. This will ensure that your OS is not the culprit.

That means that the softpaq on the HP FTP server might very have issues.

Hi, although I have a different printer (HP Photosmart 2610) my problem is very similar:
1. Windows 7 64 bit
2. I had it working for about 3 years when all of the sudden got an error message "Error from HPISCNCC.DLL"
3. When tried to reinstall got a very similar error:
"Application did not returned ERROR_SUCCESS, Returned 0x2"
"LaunchApp(X:\hphtra08.exe -shutdown....) failed with 2
4. Did all the Window updates, selective startup... according to Windows Installation Problem workflow document.
Still the same problem
Have you finally succeeded to solve your problem? If so, I wonder how?
Thanks

Hi Alex,
Unfortunately I haven't been ablo to resolve this issue, it took quite a lot of time back then and left nothing but frustration.
I'm still using the printer without the Solution Center which means printing and copying still goes like it should but scanning leaves me only a few options instead of a bunch of options ![]()
