HP B210a (all in one printer) won't power down

I am not able to turn my printer off without pulling out the power supply. When I press the power/switch the screen states that the printer is 'shutting down', but it does not turn off.
Plugging the printer back in after removing the power supply causes the device to state that it was not powered down correctly and this may have damaged the printer.
I would like to know if there is a fix for this? Or if anyone else has experienced this problem with this model of printer?

Other than freezing while shutting down do you have any other problems with the printer? Did you try again to see if it was just a one time thing or does it continually happen when you try to shutdown? How long did you wait for it to shutdown before you unplugged it?

In the past I had a power suply issue with this model, but HP replaced it (this is the third replacement I've had under the warranty so far!) But other than it not shutting down, I haven't had any other issue with this printer.
It seems to be a continuous problem now, but when I first got the printer it did shut down properly for a little while. Yesterday or the day before (after I posted the problem on here anyway...) I forgot that it was on still and it was it was still 'shutting down' a couple of hours after I tried to turn it off before I pulled the plug.

I installed the software again and this no longer seems to be an issue. (However now I can't use the scanner for some reason...I've started a new thread about that to see if anyone can offer a solution...)
