I have an HP C4585 running alongside a PC running Windows Home Premium 7 (64-bit). After installing Windows 7, I installed the latest 64-bit drivers from HP. Installation went fine and a test page was printed.
When attempting to print anything else, however, nothing happens. I can tweak printer properties &c and programs such as Final Draft 7/Acrobat Reader/Word will show the document being prepared for printing but nothing at all appears in the print queue and the printer sits idle.
Any help much appreciated!

One spot to check is whether the default printer is set for the printer in question for the OS that you are using.
Go to control panel, Printer & Faxes, right click the printer to check if it is default .
Whether any printer LED indications lights is complaining ?
Since you have successfully printed a test-copy, it means it is connected via USB well and it is very rare that it will not print others.

Yes, it's the default printer. And it not omly prints the test page, it also works perfectly as a scanner so it can clearly communicate with the pc. The only thing it won't do is print anything other than a test page. I see from searching various forums that other people have been having the same problem since the Windows 7 beta release ... with very little response from HP other than to say new drivers were coming. I'm afraid it looks like those new drivers don't yet work.
