I had the same problem recently. I was frustrated because in had used the printer with no problems only a couple of days earlier. When i switched it on it said 'Print cartridges' 'Refer to printer documentation'. In my irritation i repeatedly removed and installed the cartridges (forcefully!)
until the error message disappeared. To save keep lifting the cover i held my finger in the hole on the left hand side and just removed it to release the cartridges.
Not very technical I'm afraid but resolved the problem.![]()

Same here! I installed the new cartridges and I got the error, now it won't even recognize the old cartridges. Am I going to have to keep buying them until I find one that works?!! I've opened and closed the printer ten thousand times and still nothing, I've removed and replaced the old and new ink cartridges and still nothing! So still no solution anyone?? I didn't really use this printer much anyway so I know it can't be the usage.

I am having exactly the same problem and nothing seems to be fixing it. These printers are so frustrating. Seems a common problem. Any more suggestions?
