HP DeskJet D4260 Failing to Print Words on Windows XP

I have a HP DeskJet D4260 Printer and when I try to print out  Word documents  or  an adobe pdf file with words inside the  boxes, for instance, the following link will take you to the Maryland Department of Labor Website where i was trying to print out a Work Permit, seeing how I'm a minor and cannot work with out one; http://www.dllr.state.md.us/labor/empm.shtml       IF you scroll down to where it says "1. PRINT A HARD COPY OF THE WORK PERMIT APPLICATION." and download one of the types of files, PDF or Word  with the PDF file when I print it out only the boxes  and  anything that was made(ie. STATE OF MARYLAND

1100 N EUTAW STREET - BALTIMORE - MARYLAND - 21201) would print out but  the words like First Name, Last Name and so forth werent printed out,and inside the Big box to the right only the box and the website URL  printed out, none of the text around the website URL  would print. Everything like what was explained wouldn't print and only boxes with stuff built into the page would print the words wouldn't. The word version of that was even freakier,  it printed out random boxes with no words at all. For the PDF i used Adobe Reader 9.0 which I updated manually before printing and for the word  document I used  OfficeWriter 2.2  and both times its printed weirdly. 

After all of that I decided that maybe I  Installed it wrong because when I did install it, It seemed confusing to me at the time, so   I decided to uninstall and reinstall following directions from the HP website,  when i uninstalled it and reinstalled it it wasn't as confusing,   and the program bumped into several errors while installing but stopped and downloaded help from the website then rebooted and continued again(which was very cool and I liked it) It finally finished and I decided that I would register it so I did, I also did a couple test prints which were.... well weird but you could tell its was an apple and a pear. So I went into notepad and typed some random words and then printed to see if it would work, no such luck, the blank paper remained blank. So I  decided to fiddle with the  thing and found out that in the area where it shows you your estimated ink levels you can clean your cartridge and  do those tests. So I tried that, and that made the test print a bit clearer and more defined but did not fix my problem.

    2.41 GHz, 1.00 GB of RAM

Seeing how my mom won't let me  play computer games or do anything on the computer till I resolve this issue I turn to you as my last hope, Any and all Help is appreciated, even if it doesn't fix the problem, it is still appreciated.

heyyyyyyyy, apperently  the black ink wasn't good and I replaced it and it works
