HP Deskjet 3050A won't scan to iMac 10.7.3

I just bought an iMac 10.7.3 and an HP Deskjet 3054A J611 and when I tried to scan for the first time, I got an error message that scanning had been disabled. It told me to go to settings, preferences, etc. and enable. However, when I go to settings, I don't get the option to enable anything. It will copy and print, but will not scan to computer. I am over here in The Netherlands with limited access to anything. Please advise. Thanks!

Hello,

Thanks for the post.  With this one, I might suggest checking the software, ensure you have the latest.  Good Luck!  (Link posted below)

This document is quite lenghty, but excellent t-shooting steps relating to scanning.

There are some other options available for scanning also, link provided below.
