1. When I plug in my new HP Deskjet F4280 (via USB cable) to my new Mac Mini, nothing happens. (Should it?)
2. When I try running the HP install from the green "F4200" CD the following happens:
(actually I have been deselecting the HP photo suite software because I don't need it. I do keep the last two (of the three) install components selected.)
A. It gets to a screen saying I must select my device from the list, but the printer is not listed (nothing is listed). It does show a "My device is not listed" checkbox option.
B. When I click the "My device is not listed" option I then see "Deskjet F4280" added to the list, complete with an icon.
C. When I click Continue, the Deskjet entry dissappears and then I get a "drop down" (?) message saying that I must select a device to install and I am given the option to Skip or Go back.
When I click Skip, I do notice that there are two HP related items in my Library Startitems folder.
My Mac Mini is new, with the following installed: iPhone Developer SDK, MSN Messenger, OpenOffice 3.0 and Safari Adblock. I have used an external iomega hard drive, but it was not plugged in at this time.
I was hoping this would be easy since I'm not doing anything complicated! Please help.
