I'm trying to install HPofficejet 4622, but keep getting error code 1722 (install didn't add port monitor (HP Discovery Port Monitor), yes my port monitor under computer management is turned on.

Hello FloridaGypsy
Try the following document, it has troubleshooting for many MSI Fatal Errors. Let me know how it goes or if you have any questions.

Hello again FloridaGypsy
Try this:
1. Type services.msc in run or search program and files
2. Locate "Print Spooler" service.
3. Make sure that this service is running.
4. Double click on Print Spooler and go to the tab called Dependencies.
5. Two services should be listed (its ok if you don't 2).
6. Check these services to make sure they are enabled.
If you run into any problems or notice anything odd please let me know. Hopefully this will get the print spooler in working order.

Thanks for checking back with me
I didn't follow your instructions exactly as I knew the print spooler was turned on & went directly to Dependency.
Only one service available
"Remote Procedure Call (RPC)"
Then I went back to double check the print spooler & although set on automotic it was now "turned off".
Teach me to follow instructions !
It shows an error code of 1075
"The dependency service does not exsist or has been marked for deletion"

Hello FloridaGypsy
Which service gave the error code? The Print Spooler?
You may want to try the HP Print and Scan Doctor. It might discover something and may even fix it.
However, it seems to be a problem with Windows Services. Have you tried Stopping and Restarting the Print Spooler? What operating system are you running?

Hello FloridaGypsy
In Services was Remote Procedure Call (RPC) running? The problem seems to be that it isn't running or working properly. The Error Code 1075 indications that the Print Spooler can start because of a problem with RPC.
If it is indeed started try to restart the RPC service if you can. Has anything changed recently such as an update, a new antivirus or registry cleaner, etc.?

Sorry, just double-checked something
Under Services
The RPC is set as automatic
The RPC Locator is set on Manual
