Hi,
we have an HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 A909b, conected via Lan with static IP.
Using the installation CD, the printer and scanner works fine in Windows XP.
Using the same instalation CD, doing the same steps, it does not get detected in Windows 7 64bits.
At the end of the installation, there is a wizzard for finding and selecting the printer. The printer is found,
but then a red circle appears saying there was a problem. An icon is created in the desktop in order
to run the same procedure, it never get detected.
Is there an issue with Windows 7 64bit?
Many thanks
Oliver

Solved!
- Right button on another printer, ports, delete the IP of the printer
- Uninstall all HP driver
- login as a local admin, not a Domain Admin
- Install al usual, all works fine
- Then login as a Domain user and use the scanner
HTH
Oliver
