I have been trying to install the HP OFFICEJET 4500 wireless series and keep getting this message: Installer Firewall Exception Plug-In stopped working.
It is a all in one printer, fax, copier and scanner. The box stated that it is compatible with my laptop. I have a Qosmio Toshiba, Windows Vista,64 bit, service pack 2,and a Atheros AR9281 Wireless Network Adapter.
I have even disabled the firewall to try it that way also with no success. It will let me download the software using the USB but I want to go wireless. I even removed the HP OFFICEJET 4500 and re-downloaded it with no success for the wireless part.
Any suggestions?
Thanks, Debz

Try the Network Diagnostic Utility (NDU). It might be able to tell us what could be causing the issue.

Hello Shriaknt
The following is a link user manual. If you search for page 52 it will explain how to set auto-answer mode.
Next time please post a new thread. It helps prevent having many seperate issues covered in a single thread.

Hello Shriaknt
Are you receiving any errors or does it just revert back to not being set to auto answer? Does that line also have an answering machine? If so you may need to set the rings before answer as well.

Hello Shriaknt
At this point I would suggest checking out the article "Cannot send or receive faxes". The article will go over quite a bit, but that it is because its pretty thorough.
