HP Pavillion HPE and HP Laser Jet 1022

I have a new HP Pavillion HPE and have not been able to install my HP Laser Jet 1022 Printer. It recognizes a printer but says it is unspecified and is missing the driver. I have the CD and I have tried to download on line. No luck. Any suggestions?

I had tried that already. It acts as though the printer is not connected to the computer. It just shows the picture of both ends of the cable and where it should go - which is where it is.

I have downloaded the driver,.  It shows the printer with check mark for 1020 but 1022 is not being recognized.  I have done everything that a reasonable person would think of but the printer does not work.  Any ideas.  Print doctor also not helpful
