HP PhotoSmart 3310 Software download & installation

I run Windows XP and have an HP PhotoSmart 3310. I recently had a hard-drive crash and need to re-install the software and drivers for my printer. I can download the bundle I need, but when I extract and start the installment process, I get an error that says, "This system does not meet one or more of the minimum requirements needed to install this product. The installation cannot continue." Requirements indicate USB Drivers & USB Software, but show no specifics. My Windows updates have all been done. When I had to do a system restore about a year ago, I had no problem getting this software to install, but this time I do. Tech Support only wanted to sell me another printer.

I would make sure that you have the correct download. The link below will take you straight to the XP full feature software and drivers. If you still run into the problem try holding down Ctrl & Alt then press enter this should by pass the system checker warning screen,

Thank you for your reply. You are the only one to do so, so far. I tried what you suggested. All it accomplished was a screen dump indicating the progress of the installation software. Everything looks good, as far as it goes.

The last two lines are:

"20111029235546:0004EC82F:0001(0045-0000)(hpzchk01.exe)Displaying dialog - 1035 - System Requirements Results"

and

"20111029235547:0005C4FCF:0001(0046-0000)(hpzchk01.exe)Exiting dialog - 1035 - System Requirements Results"

Everything up to that point looks like all qualification are met.

Still hoping for a solution. My other USB devices are working perfectly.

Hi DanChurch,

Right click on My Computer and capture a screen shot or run msinfo32 from the run bar, and then click export from the file menu/ Save the file as a msinfo.txt. Attach the file to this post so that i can see what might be causing the system checker issue.

I have exported the information as msinfo.txt to my desktop. I see no way to attach the file to this reply. It is 4.80 MB (225 KB zipped). I tried opening it with Word and pasting it into the above "Paste from Word". That seemed to overwhelm your system. It is 966 pages in length. How do I get this information to you?

Below the box were you type is a Attachments box. Click the browse button to attach the file.

At the risk of sounding obtuse, there is no visible "Attachments" box below. I see "View discussion in a popup", "Cancel", and "Post". Above this area I see "Spell Check", "Quote", and a place to place "Message Tags". I just checked "My Settings" and saw no way to turn on a setting that would reveal the Attachments box.

Hi DanChurch,

The only thing i can think to do at this point is to scrub all software and driver you may have on the system, and then reinstall the printer. Follow the steps below to completely scrub the printer from your system.

Uninstall scrubber steps:

1. Type %temp% in run

2. Look for a folder labeled 7z???? example: 7zS6D6F, and then open it.

3. Open the folder labeled Util

4. Open the folder labeled CCC

5. If you have an HP computer run L3uninstall.bat. If your computer is non HP then run the L4uninstall.bat

6. Once the uninstall scrubber is finished reboot the computer.

8. When the download is finished double click to reinstall the printer.
