HP Photosmart C6300 series disconnected! message in Solution Center

Hello, I'm hoping somebody can help me. Hooked up this printer fine a few weeks ago and everything was running fine. Tried printing yesterday and am getting error messages. I have Windows Vista and am using a wireless router connection. The wireless test on the printer passes everything. I am not sure why I am getting this message in Solution Center though. I tried installing some of the updates on the Hp website but so far nothing is working. Please help!

hi,

 

 Did you use the installation disk that came with the printer to install the unit to this vista computer? And also, can you please specify what are the updates that you installed to this computer?!

 

UPdates are the ff:

 Solution Center Update

 Critical Update to Correct a PC to Printer Communication Issue, which commonly addresses the issue regarding disconnected status

 

If you had installed these updates, try to perform these steps:

 

>using the installation disk, open the contents/files of the disk

>find and open the folder name SETUP

>find and open the folder name STATUS

>find and right STATUS.MSI to view the options that says INSTALL, REPAIR, UNINSTALL

>click on the REPAIR option to repair STATUS.MSI

>then relaunch the hp solution center to check if the status now says connected!

>if the status still says disconnected, perform the same steps again mentioned above but this time select first UNINSTALL, then INSTALL and last is REPAIR. After uninstalling, reinstalling and repairing STATUS.MSI, kindly reboot your computer and then relauch hp solotion center to check the wireless status of the your printer.

Thanks for your reply. Yes I originally installed the software using the disk.

I installed those two updates and still the status was disconnected.

I then tried the repair and still disconnected.

Then I did the uninstall. When I try to install I get an error that says Unexpected error code 2732.

Any ideas?
