I reinstalled the entire software after I installed a new hard drive to my Dell Optiplex computer. No errors during install. When I tried to open the Solution Center to scan I had a blank screen. Tried rebooting. Same story. Tried partial uninstall of solution center. Same story. Did complete uninstall using Windows Add/Remove followed by full install. Same story I have Win XP SP3. It was working perfectly before this. On my old desktop with HP all in one I had to do a special uninstall that I had to repeat multiple times. Couldn't find this on website. Also, I saw a post about reinstalling .Net framework & some other files, but that was for Win 7. Please help.

Hello monkeyblair
HP Solution Center uses flash to display the interface. Try updating your flash to the latest version. This may account for the blank screen.

Good thought. Being a new install I thought maybe I had forgotten to reload Flash. I loaded it, but still with blank screen even after reboot.

Hello monkeyblair
The following instructions will scrub the driver from the system. Don't forget to restart the computer after it finishes uninstalling.
From Original installation CD:
1. Insert CD into drive, and then cancel the installer
2. Open My Computer, and then right click on the CD drive and chose open
3. Open folder Util
4. Open folder CCC
5. Run the L4uninstall.bat
6. When the uninstall has completed restart the computer
7. Run Disk cleanup from Accessories\ System Tools
8. Download and install the latest version of Adobe flash player
http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
9. Download the full feature software and drivers
10. Run the download to reinstall the printer
If software was downloaded and extracted to your system:
1. Type %temp% in the run field
2. Look for, and open the folder starting with 7z (Example: 7zS2356)
3. Open folder Util
4. Open folder CCC
5. Run the L4uninstall.bat
6. When the uninstall has completed restart the computer
7. Run Disk cleanup from Accessories\ System Tools
8. Download and install the latest version of Adobe flash player
http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
9. Download the full feature software and drivers
10. Run the download to reinstall the printer

Thank you Travis. I don't know what was different about the protocol you gave me from what I had done already, but it worked. I have logged hours into deleting installations, reinstalling, eliminating and reinstalling flash without success. I actually paid $40 for paid support because it took a while to get responses and the last time I contacted the forum I got a flood of replies so I was concerned that the grassroots approached wasn't being used anymore. I actually spent close to 3 hours on the phone with tech support some of which was inaccurate. I was first told that I should just reinstall that the old installation would automatically be uninstalled (instead I got two faulty installations and he didn't really know much about the uninstall tool. The 2nd agent kept trying to use the Platform to take over my computer, but couldn't get past an active X problem that showed up on his side, but I could never see. Apparently the tech support people are subcontractors representing HP, but the training seems spotty. Anyway to get some type of refund?

Travc_C - Unfortunately, my HP Photosmart Premium 309a did not come with a CD. I didn't need it as I was able to locate software I needed online at the time. Now I'm having trouble fully uninstalling the printer and do not (that I know of) have any way to access the various uninstall.bat files (I think I need L3). Thank you
