No matter how many new cartridges you buy....this computer drinks ink.
Buying the 564 black ink drives everyone crazy... most stores don't carry the "BlacK" photo ink and nobody seems to know that the Black 564XL does not fit in this model and that you need to buy "Black" 564 AND Black 564 Photo. Even the CSRs from HP don't understand the 564 differences!
Since you work for HP, maybe you should try to tell them about these problems.

It not only drinks in when I replaced my cartridges it stop pinting in black, after 3 hours with customer support they sent me a new print head which was the wrong one so they sent me another. now 3 months later I replaced the ink cartridgeand now it stoped working again after going through all the cleaning steps it still will not work, I quess I am kind of stupid they wont send me antother print head unless I spend three hours online with them to prove I have done all the steps again I went through all new xl cartridges them want me to send them to them and they replaced them with regular cartridges that have less than 1\3 the ink this is the second time in less than a year. luckily I can get my money back it is out of here. Sadly I have 2 hp computers and an old printer I have been well pleased with the printer is like 10 years old. and will still work some. I sorry but this printer is a big disappointment,

I have had multiple problems with my HP Photosmart Premium not the least of which has been the inability to consistently print envelopes despite the multiple work-arounds I have tried based on suggestions from other users. This product has reduced, not enhanced, my productivity.

My first email was in 4/2010; then I wrote again in November 2010. I'm still disappointed but don't want to start all over with another printer. So, this is what I have found out.
The ink that comes with printer are not full cartridges, don't know why just frustrates everyone.
The easiest way to keep yourself in ink is to buy it at Staples when they have a sale and turn in your empty cartridges.for Staple Rewards Dollars. I haven't worked out the final cost, but it is the best buy I know of and Staples also carries the "564 Black PHOTO ink. FYI there is a little picture of a camera on the front/bottom of the box. Do not buy the package with the 3 colors and 10 photopapers...bad buy...ink is the same amount as with the new printer.
The printer has been working fine once I got it working.

AMEN to all the problems with HP Photosmart Premium C309a All In One!!! I can relate to the continuous "realignment" after EVERY print job. I have to change all ink tanks after 30 - 40 pages (every month). The price of ink is ATROCIOUS!!!
I called HP Customer Un-Support only to have two different support persons tell me, "your printer is out of warranty. You will have to pay for us to assist...we recommend you purchase a new printhead."
I have news for HP. I own TWO NEW HP computers (purchased within the past 13 months). I don't HAVE to purchase a new printhead. I can purchase a DIFFERENT BRAND of printer. HP may THINK they have me over a barrel, but they are wrong.

I have tried over and over when start up my computer PSTAPlug keep poping up then I have go through process to get off before I can us it.

Everything written regarding the c309a has been my experience also. And no, HP does NOT care. Money talks, and until we all stop purchasing their products (computers, printers, ink, paper, etc.), they will continue.
Yes, my printer also drinks ink like a camel! Buyer Beware (confirmed by store clerk)...what used to be a full HP cartrige is now only 1/3 full. The "new 2.5X" ink cartriges contain a full tank of ink. That's why we get 30 or less pages or normal print. I've had Canon printers for 13 years...they still work, and I can still SEE the amount of ink in the clear plastic ink tanks!!! No guessing on how full a new ink tank is!!
Even though the print quality is excellent, it is 8 - 10 times cheaper to print photos online or in-store at a Walgreens, Walmart, or other photo outlet.
My printer does a complete cleaning cycle after each print job. When I inquired of HP, they told me my print head was bad. So I ordered a new print head only to learn that it's NOT the print head, it's the way they have programmed the "smart" printer. It wastes more ink on cleaning than I use printing.
Where are all the HP Customer Service "solutions"? HP, do you even care?? It may take several years, but eventually enough of us will stop purchasing your products that it WILL make a difference!!!

If you work for HP, why don't you share these posts with them? We'd all like some answers...especially how to keep the printer from alignment/head cleaning after every print job that is using up all our ink!
You may sell us a bad product once, but I promise we won't be back for more!

PSTAPugin keep poping up ever time I log on is there something I can do to either install or uninstall.
