HP Photosmart (b209) and IE8 Problems

Just bought/installed this printer and using Windows 7 64bit.  Printer is wireless and works with all print jobs including 32 bit IE8 but will not print from 64bit IE8.  The print preview window is fine, but when you press "print" the printer doesn't receive the job, put the print in a que, nothing. 

I don't have the web print utility installed on the computer or ie8

Could you please do a double check to see if HP Smart Web Printing is installed?

Please open Add/Remove program entries and look for this program.

Your issue really sounds like you have HP Smart Web Printing installed.  The old version did not work for IE8 64bit.

I don't have the Smart Web Utility installed as I don't want the clutter/toolbar on my web browser.  If I don't have the Smart Web Utility installed does that mean that the B209 cannot print 64bit IE8 content???  Isn't that a bit of an oversight on the part of the printer drivers??

You'll be able to print from IE even without SWP. IE has it's own printing mechanism that will work with the printer.

Also, have you tried printing from IE 32-bit?
