HP Photosmart c309a installed printer, but scanner not recognized...

Hello, all.

I recently installed the HP Photosmart c309a all-in-one on a machine using Windows 7 Home Premium.

The setup worked perfectly and my wireless was instantly detected.

However, it does not recognize that my device is also a scanner.

Does anyone know how I can solve this?

If you've installed the full software for your printer, then you can just open HP Solution Center and scan from there.

I have the same problem, except with an HP 2710 All-in-one.  And, sadly, there is no software (ie, no Solution Center, no HP Director, etc) for this model for Windows 7, they just tell you to go to Windows Fax & Scanner and use that.  Which is difficult to do since Windows Fax & Scanner does not recognize the printer as a scanner.  Anyone come across a solution to this problem?  Is HP developing a full Windows 7 software suite for their printers?

HP Solution center doesn't always work and I'd like to be able to use the Windows Scan Program...is there no way to do this?

We are having a problem with trying to "Activate Fax to PC". We searched the Help files that came with HP Photosmart Solution Center for the HP Photosmart C309a and it stated that we could set it up using the Fax Settings in the Solutions Center, but there is no such area.

Please Advise.

Hi

I have the same problem when trying to scan to computer. I know you can do it through the software on the computer but i want to use the button on the panel. That is what is there for. On my previous printer that broke somebody helped me on the website to fix the problem but I cannot remember how i did it or where i found the answer so i know it can be done.

Please help.

well sadly to say but i think HP wont be releasing any driver that were manufactured around 2008 or 2007 below for windows 7 so the only drivers that would be available is just for printing and maybe you can try to go to your MS Paint and try to scan from there.
