OK; I have followed the instructions to the point where they are almost memorized. I have a C6280 all in one networked to a 64 bit Pavilion p6230 machine running win 7. I can get the software suite installed and it will scan, print, copy, etc. just fine. Fine that is, till it is time to shut it off. On the next start up, no device detected and we are back at the re-install routine. (yes, the basic print still functions from word/excel) It seems to me that the driver is getting over written on start up?? I am starting to get a bit peeved with this whole mickeymouse bs. I have followed all steps in the HP solutions guess list. Down loaded from the site to machine and launched from there, Launched install from the HP site. I even regressed so far as to load from the cd.
Other than declaring the system a total; what are some possible fixes?

I too have the similar problem. Our printer is L7555 all in one. And after installation everything is working fine until we turn off window 7. Next time we turn on our computer everything we install for L7555 is gone and we have to reinstall and the worst part also it will ask you to uninstall first some software and reboot then install again. Wonder when HP engineer will get back to ask and fix this problem?

I have had the same problem and thought I was going mad, thank God I am not alone. This problem does not occur with XP or Vista machines so I assume this must be a Win7 issue.

I downloaded an update today that looked like it was going to resolve this problem as it said it was to stabilize printer network connections. Trouble is having installed it I cannot connect to my printer at all across my network. I just keep getting a message saying installation failed. Installs okay over USB but that is not how I want to connect, this is supposed to be a network printer. Anybody got any ideas?
