Having problems connecting laserjet 1200 to windows 8

I know this is a little early but I've downloaded the Windows 8 preview and am trying to connect to my laserjet 1200 printer on my windows 7 machine.  When I browse for printers I see the printer but when select it I get the message that no driver is available.  I've downloaded the driver from the HP website for windows 7 but it still doesn't work or I get a message that it can't connect to the printer.  I also have a photosmart C5500 that I having the same problems with.  

I don't know if this is the correct place to post this question but I thought it would be a start.  If no one has an answer maybe you could point me in the right direction.

HP understands that Microsoft has released a Windows 8 Consumer Preview (Beta) version. HP is not currently supporting any Windows Consumer Preview (Beta) operating system versions.  If you have any questions about the Windows 8 Consumer Preview (Beta), may I refer you to Microsoft's website at: www.microsoft.com?
