I have a new Pavillion p6-2033W with an add-on serial/parallel port. It has Windows 7 Home Premium with SP 1 (OEM) installed on it. I have several USB printers but wanted to include old fathful, my LJ1100A.
While installing my HP LaserJet 1100A I ended up with multiple copies because each time I added a printer it would not print. I eventually discovered that the computer had assigned LPT3 to the parallel port and COM3 to the serial port. When I set up that printer to LPT3 it started working, however it and the duplicates do not show up on the device and printer page. I now have the following on the parallel port:
HP LaserJet 1100
HP LaserJet 1100 (MS)
HP LaserJet 1100 (MS) (Copy 1)
and they are all offered as printers to print to but do not show up any timeother than when I have to select a printer to print something. I cannot find them anywhere else.
I would like to delete the duplicates but have not been able to find out where they are available for management.
Someone suggested looking for "Hidden" drivers, but they are not there. Where are they and how do I manage them?
