My Photosmart C3180 recently stopped printing. I've tried everything. It was printing after I purchased a new cartridge recently. NOw my tri-color shows that it's empty. So my question is if it has black ink but not tri color will that keep it from printing?

I'm not sure throwing it out the window will make it print any better.....but let me know if it does ![]()
Can you make a copy? If so then it's likely a problem with the software

I was excited to try your idea...sorry it didn't work. And the scanner works. The red light for "Check print cartrige" and the "color" button have been blinking. I really think this thing must have BOTH cartridges filled to work! Shame on HP to force me to have both, if that's the case!

That'd be the next step I'd suggest - replacing the color cartridge
Many printers out there require all the cartridges in order to print - and some will print with only one
