Installation Error for HP Deskjet F380

The installtion process stops here and shows device failed to install. Please suggest something.

Have you tried a new USB cable or New USB Port on the computer?

Try using the scrubber built into the CD or Download.

From Original installation CD:

1. Insert CD into drive, and then cancel the installer

2. Open My Computer, and then right click on the CD drive and chose open

3. Open folder Util

4. Open folder CCC

5. If you have an HP computer run the L3uninstall.exe. If you have a non-HP computer run the L4uninstall.exe

6. When the uninstall has completed restart the computer

7. Run Disk cleanup from Accessories\ System Tools

8. Download and install the latest version of Adobe flash player

9. Download the full feature software and drivers

10. Run the download to reinstall the printer

If software was downloaded and extracted to your system:

1. Type %temp% in the run field

2. Look for, and open the folder starting with 7z (Example: 7zS2356)

3. Open folder Util

4. Open folder CCC

5. If you have an HP computer run the L3uninstall.exe. If you have a non-HP computer run the L4uninstall.exe

6. When the uninstall has completed restart the computer

8. Download and install the latest version of Adobe flash player

Dear PCWizard,

                                      You've provided drivers for Windows XP but I'm using Windows 8 Consumer preview and before when I was using Windows 7 , I also faced the same problem. And yes I would like to inform you that I've the lasted All-in-one drivers for Windows 7.

Hi Kuna,

If you had this issue on your Win 7 prior to installing Win 8 it sounds like you may have a USB cable or Port issue on the computer. Try installing the printer on a different computer to see if you are successfully able to install completely. Let me know what you find out?

Tried on my Compaq Desktop (Running Windows XP SP3), and its working fine. Tried on my Laptop using the HP Linux Imagong and Printing System and its also working fine. There is a problem only in Windows 7 and 8.

Here are the details:

HP Pavilion DV4 1506TX

Windows 7 Home Premium/ Ultimate -Installation Fail

Windows 8 COnsumer Perview : Installation Fail

Ubuntu Linux- Installation Success

Compaq Presario Desktop:

Windows XP SP3- Installation Success

Below is the full feature software and driver for Win 7. Note: The full feature driver will not work in Win 8 beta as there is only a NOS driver available when you run the windows update from add a printer.
