Installed a new router and printer connects but can't find the scanner in my Photosmart 2610.

Router is Netgear 50 connected directly with Ethernet cable into the all-in-one printer and can print but the scanner cannot be located. What did I do wrong? How can I fix this? Thanks, Kathryn, Profitivity Inc.

Sounds like it could be one or two things. Your router may need to have some ports open or your firewall is blocking the communication.
You can download and run the Network Diagnostic Utility (NDU) from www.hp.com/go/tools
This utility can tell you if you're having communication problems.
If there is a communication problem, you'll need to open the ports in your firewall and possibly have your router company to open the ports for you on the router.

Hi SandyBob,
Sounds like the firewall may be the issues, however I am Mac and can't download the HP Network Diagnostic Utility - it's in a Windows format. Now what?

I'd try to make those changes in your firewall. Then try to scan again. If it still doesn't work, call netgear and get them to open the ports in the router unless you know how to do it.
