LASERJET 1022 USB Device Not Recognized

when I connect my laserjet 1022 printer to my computer,  I get the message "USB Device Not Recognized". normally, I am using Windows 7 64bit, but I try to connect it an other computer which has Windows XP OS. Neither Win7 nor Win XP can print anything with proper drivers. I think this is not a driver problem, it seems like an hardware problem. Did anybody meet this problem before, I can not use this printer.

also we have another 1022 which is working properly, I replace my printer to it and my printer is not print again.

If I have an hardware problem anybody has advice me anything.

Will the printer print a test page when not connected to the computer? If not, then the hardware problem is with the printer that is being connected.

If it prints a test page when not connected to the computer, then the problem is on the comptuer end. Try another USB cable or port. Some computers, especially laptops, can have really touchy USB ports (my Lenovo laptop is like that ) and USB cables can go bad.

thank you very much, my Vaio is like your Lenova I think. cable is unexpected but really a solution. my HP Deskjet 9800's cable do not work with HP Laserjet 1022 but a new brand phoenix contact cable worked.

do not wory I won't tell anybody that you are an hp employee but using Lenova

Glad to hear everything worked out for you! My Lenovo is my personal laptop  that I have had for 5 years...still ticking along but is really getting "long in the tooth" and am dreading the day I have to do something about it (been a good little machine). Thanks for keeping my secret
