LASERJET PRO M1536DNF - Problem with send spool

[ Edited ]

Hi,

This is a simple (or stupid) question. I just need to send multiple different faxes with multiple different numbers, but I can just send one fax at a time. There is no spooling, the fax can't store more than one fax at a time. I think that the fax is not well configured. Can someone help me?

Thank you.

Re: LASERJET PRO M1536DNF - Problem with send spool

I would like to echo this concern. We have two identical (?) M1536dnf MFP's. One (with an older firmware) will spool faxes while it is sending the first. The other, with a newer firmware, and which I just updated to the latest firmware, will not spool faxes. It could be that the firmware is the issue, but I have not found a location to download OLDER firmware. Bill

Hi

How are you attempting to send the faxed from the printer or software?

The faxes are being sent by scanning via the document feeder.

Hi WillBTech,

Once the documents are finished scanning you should be able to start a second fax while the first one is sending. What happens when you try entering in a second fax number?

Re: LASERJET PRO M1536DNF - Problem with send spool

The display continues to say "Dialing <###-###-####>" and then "Connecting to .......................", etc. Typing on the keypad while the fax is connecting or transmitting has no effect.

Re: LASERJET PRO M1536DNF - Problem with send spool

When first scanning the fax, the display shows "Storing Pg. 1", but that's all that storing seems to do.

Re: LASERJET PRO M1536DNF - Problem with send spool

Hi WillBTech,

When faxing from the printer you will need to allow the first fax to finish faxing before attempting the second fax job. This printer doesn't have a large amount of memory to store faxes.

Re: LASERJET PRO M1536DNF - Problem with send spool

So the identical printer that we have in another room that will spool faxes has more memory? Can we add more memory to the one that won't spool faxes?

Re: LASERJET PRO M1536DNF - Problem with send spool

Both printers; the one that will spool faxes, and the one that won't spool faxes have the same amount of Total Memory: 128 MBytes. The problem seems to be that the Available Memory may be less in the one that does not spool faxes. But the difference is 74.32 MBytes versus 70.50 MBytes (from the Config Report printed by each machine). So, it looks like the firmware is responsible. The firmware from 6-15-2010 works, whereas the firmware from 4-5-11 does not.
