LOW MEMORY ON HP2840 - IT WILL NOT PRINT ANYTHING

I have a HP color laserjet 2840, which has been working fine for 3 years. Today, after printing 6 color pages, it will not print the 7th page, and I get an error message that says "Memory is low", and it says to hit enter on the printer to print a partial page, but it is only printing blank pages.  On the printer display it says "Memory is Low, press enter", but only blank pages come out.  The ink cartridges are full.

I tried turning the power off and unplugging it, and pressing # and 6 when turning it back on, but that doesn't help.  I checked HP Toolbox and it shows total memory 96MB and available memory 46.38MB.

How can I get it to print?

I am experiencing the same problem. The file I am trying to print is 6.5MB, which should be well within the range of the memory in the printer. I have tried to reduce the size of the outptut from A4 to A5, but it still won't print. I hope someone at support will look into this. I will be happy to share my file with support if this can be of help.

Are you using the PCL6 driver or the Post Script (PS) driver?  If the file is PS, and you are using a PCL driver it is possible to run into memory issues.  A memory dimm of up to 128 mb can also be added to the printer.

I have the same problem here regarding 'low memory' on my HP Color Laserjet 2840.

I found a solution that works. I threw away the HP2840 and bought a Canon printer instead. Works like a charm. Never a crappy HP printer for me again.
