Need New printer for a "Windows ME" computer

I know that ME is a very old and forgettable system but my friend has been using this system from the very first release of ME. She is 84 years old and cannot afford a new system. Her printer / scanner from Hewlett Packard finally gave up the ghost ( the cartridges no longer move). She needs a new printer and has saved for almost 4 months to buy one but now she can't find one that works with ME. She has the old printer connected by a USB port and that port is still functional. Can anyone suggest a new printer that would work with ME? She gave up her internet connection to save money so that is why I am posting this question. I tried to get her to update the operating system or the computer but the costs isn't in her budget( she still likes to eat). She uses the computer to do some church work but they don't have a computer themselves (yet). Does HP still make a printer that is compatible with ME. 

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
