Neither my C6380 and PSC 1210 all-in-one wont install

Please help! I am not sure if I am going to cry to chuck my HP pc and both printers out the window. Ok so here is the deal. My PC is an a1750y running Vista. My PSC 1210 worked fine when I got the a1750y and then one day just it stopped be recognized. I tried everything to get it to work again and finally thought it was too old and Vista had rejected it. Xmas rolls around and I get the new C6380, I followed all the directions and then the driver fails so I tried unistalling, and tried again. Same problem. Downloaded the driver from the HP site and same thing, tried hiding things in msconfig, turned of all my windows/security settings, evrything... Chatted twice with HP with no luck. Called yesterday and the guy took controll of my desk top - he deleted stuff (including my MS Word, hello??) and we went through everything over and over. THREE hours later he said it "was complicated" and said he would called me back between 12 -2 today. Well he didn't. (*sigh*)

I figured that maybe I should try the old one PSC 1210 again just now and I get the same error that the driver fails. I checked the device manager updated all the drivers... please help. They are all hp products...

We bought the C6380 also, because my dad said that HP's were Brilliant, but found out otherwise. Around the same time, our HP computer broke, took HP support 6 weeks just to replace a graphics card on it. But that's another issue. Back to the printer.

I easily installed the printer software on our HP Vista 64-Bit PC by using the software disk, but when i tried installing it on my Toshiba Vista Laptop 32-Bit, it kept on failing. Tried downloading the basic drivers from their website too, but nothing different happened. I tried disabling security too, but still didn't work. I eventually downloaded the Windows 7 Beta, and suprisingly it worked there.

I didn't bother with support on this, just returned it to Best Buy, bought an Epson. Another fourm saying that he had the same issues called tech support, and they took control of his computer for 3 hours, they even deleted MS Word!!! And they still didn't get it working.

Don't bother with HP's, i'd even rather buy a mac after experiencing these problems. BTW, i HATE Macs too.

when you encountered the error message while installing it, was it something about "Installer Plug Ins" error????
